Quick Start to the App Update

How to set the audible alarm for the iPad and iPhone app.

You can set an audible alarm on the iOS app by going into the Timer Settings when you begin to set a timer. If the time is up, but the alert didn’t sound on the iPad app or iPhone app, you can turn on the sound by doing the following:

1. Check your Time Timer app Timer Settings

Within the Time Timer app, go to your Timer Settings and make sure Audible Signal is turned ON.

2. Check your iOS Sound Settings

Make sure your device’s volume is turned up. Often times, this can be changed by pressing the Volume Up button on the side of your device. Though, some iOS users intentionally disable the "Change with Button" options, making it necessary to navigate to the Sound settings and move the Ringer and Alerts volume slider at the top of the page.

3. Check the Mute Switch on your device

Ensure that the Mute Switch (on the side of your device by the volume buttons) is turned OFF. If you can see an orange dot on this button, then Mute is ON. Toggle it off and try your Timer again.

4. Check your Do Not Disturb setting

Ensure that the Do Not Disturb feature is turned OFF. This feature is accessible via the iOS Control Center or within Settings > Focus.

If you hear the audible alert, but it's too loud or too quiet, please check out this write-up for adjusting the alarm volume.

How To: Log in to / Create a Time Timer Account

The steps to log in and create a Time Timer Account are the same.

4. You will receive a six-digit code to verify your email address. Go to your email inbox to retrieve your code and enter it in your Time Timer App.

5. Now you are logged in or have successfully created a Time Timer Account! You can update your profile information from here. If you have an active app subscription, that information will be at your profile page's bottom. Be sure to select "save" when making any changes to your profile.

How to adjust the volume on the iPad and iPhone app.

The steps below outline a few ways to adjust the alert/ alarm volume on your iOS app.

If you're not hearing an audible alarm at all when timing is complete, please check out this guide to enable the alert.

In-App Time Alert settings

In the timer settings, there are Tone and Vibrate settings. Tap on that to open two sliders for Tone and Vibrate. When they are green, sound is ON.

Using the Volume Buttons or Sound Settings

The physical buttons on the side of your device are your main volume buttons: turn up the volume using the top button, and turn the down the volume using the bottom button. If this does not change the volume, navigate to Settings > Sounds and slide the Ringer and Alerts slider at the top of the page. You may also want to enable the "Change with Buttons" option to allow you to change the volume via the buttons on the side of your device.

How to prolong the timer alarm sound until you manually dismiss it.

By default, Timer alerts will automatically stop after a few beeps. Optionally, you can set your timer alarms to beep continuously until you manually turn it off by doing the following:

In your individual Timer settings at the bottom of the list there is an option for “Continuous Alert”. Slide the button to be green (On).

This will extend the alert when the Timer runs out until you dismiss it.

This gives you the ability to select Continuous Alert on the specific Timers you want it to run on.

How to set a repeating Timer.

You can set a timer to repeat using the "Repeats" setting. It will automatically loop as many times as you'd like!

When creating a timer or editing a timer, under the Timer Duration, you will see the “Repeat” setting. Select the – and + buttons to edit the number of repeats you want.

When a Timer has been saved and is active, at the bottom of the screen you will see the Repeats icon. The repeat Icon will show how many repeats are completed out of the total number.

How to edit a Timer.

To edit a timer, select the timer you would like to edit and simply swipe up on the bottom control bar.

From there you will be able to edit the name, duration, repeats, color, sounds, and more.

To edit a timer for list view, right-swipe on the timer and select the edit icon (pencil icon).

Your options to edit will be the same, but you will need to press “Save” in the top right corner to ensure your changes are saved.

How to delete a Timer.

You are able to delete Timers in multiple ways:

In the List View:

Right-swipe a Timer in the List View screen. Select the trash icon.

You will then receive a pop up confirming that you would like to delete your timer.

In the Timer View:

You can swipe up to view the settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom and select the “Delete Timer” option.

You will then receive a pop up confirming that you would like to delete your timer.

Note: Deleting a Timer is permanent. Whenever a user tries to Close or Delete a Timer there is always an option to cancel.

How to create a Timer.

To create a Timer, click the + icon in the top right corner.

You have two options: 1) Customize Timer; or, 2) Quick Set Timer.

CUSTOMIZE TIMER are for Timers that are intended to be saved, customized and used over and over again. Users have the option of naming Timers and choosing the disk color and alert sound. The most unique and value oriented feature is that users can scale the Timer to any amount of time duration (from 1 second to 99 hours). This is perfect for applications that involve interval training in large or small units of time. Click Save in the top right corner and your Timer is ready to use!

QUICK SET TIMER is intended to be a very quick and easy to start Timer. It operates exactly like a traditional standalone Time Timer. When time is up, users do have the option of replaying.

If you would like to add or subtract time while the timer is in use, first pause the timer, then swipe up to the timer settings to edit your timer. Your timer settings will update automatically, so just swipe down and hit play to resume.

Please note that the timer must be paused before changing the duration. This ensures that no one can manipulate the timer while it is in use - like small children that are being monitored!

Second, a notification will appear that signals when a timer has expired. It will include the Timer name/ title.

App updates are a result of extensive outreach and testing to make sure that the Time Timer universe of users were ready for a change and that this was exactly what they wanted. The new design and subsequent changes are the direct result of user feedback that’s been collected over the years.

All users will be notified when an update is available through the App Store.
